I think the dayboats are £5 not sure if this is refundable against the bar or food. Doug Does 9 make the Perfect Lady

The cost is - I think - £5 per boat at lunch time and £ 10 per boat for the over night mooring. Both are refunded against food and NOT drink.

guys why would you stop going to this spot? when has anyone been guaranteed a mooring place? i guess in all the time we have been on our hols in peek season it really has been hit or miss on getting a mooring spot, day boats often take up places,so really dont get the point your making, just seem to be moaning again about nothing really.

Please read it all again. I don't think anyone is talking about "guaranteed" spots. We are talking about being turned away when there is available room but that room is being kept free and available for day boats only. If you can't see the problem then I guess you'll be fine when you go there but its unfair to label peoples alternative opinions as "moaning". A forum is for debate on all Broads topics and issues, not just to say nice things about everything. We'd have nowt to talk about otherwise ! Karen

Andy try looking at this from a different perspective ?? this very very popular broads riverside pub has just come out from Steel shutter wilderness - i guess it was there for financial reasons ?? nobody wants to see that again now the Swan is different ....its got more strings to its bow and it not only offers B+B but also has better passing trade not only from the village but from any coaches that are unloading folk who are going on the steam paddler look a like river excursion and can probably survive better where as the Ferry can't?? so am i moaning .....well yes iam ?? for us the Ferry is one of the many pubs on the broads that we really like - and if iam honest ..we have chucked a good few quid through its till's over time whilst iam very happy to see it re-open ..iam quite sad to see it alienate some of its past loyal customers some of these pubs in order to remain viable have got to see beyond the golden 8 weeks but hey ...we can adapt ..and as luck would have it .. its not my money invested ??? findanewpubfin

This Forum has an arrangement with the Pub at Acle Bridge for the members, any chance an arrangement can be made with The Ferry that would be good for the Owners and ourselves?

Well I will be using the Ferry as often as possible. If they want to restrict the mooring to dayboats in the center section, thats ok with me. If thats what it takes to keep it open all year then fair enough. If I have to double moor, thats not a problem either.

Andy I agree with that, the issue with me is when there is only room for a couple of boats either side of a huge area give over to the day boats. Then come October they will expect the cruisers to come flooding back overnight? It smacks of cherry picking does that. I too don't want to see it closed again and wish them all the best, but this is not winning them any friends. I too am good for double mooring inboard our outboard. Griff
