OK, I know we haven't even got past the 3RR yet but can anyone from the 'Upper Thurne rag and stick appreciation society' tell me when the Hickling Village Regatta is this year.

Hickling regatta 7 and 8th August is being held from the Pleasure Boat. All welcome to participate in a traditional style regatta and water frolics. Remember that some areas of Hickling are very shallow.

quote:"...... Hickling Broad Village Regatta is being held on the 7th and 8th of August. ......." Oo! Is that the weekend of the "Hickling Passage Race". Put me down for it again. Last year was the first time I managed to beat as River Cruiser (on handicap) and I want to see if I can do it again!

Different one Greg (although organised by the same team I think), I seem to recall that the Passge Race is later in the season. Churchy will know for sure ..... C H U R C H Y!! You should try the Regatta though - great laugh and there are dinghy, 1/2decker and yacht classes. Coriolis was there last year as well as Churchy and ourselves.

Yup, here again. Hickling generally kicks off about 10ish for first race if i remeber co, although I can't recall when this has happened. Hickling time differs to the the rest of the UK thankfully. So I would perhaps advise you to get to Hickling no later than 9.45am BST on the Saturday, this give you a chance to register and have mardle. Greg, the race which you are thinking of is the MBA Autumn Passage Race. This year it is being held on September 25th.
