Hello oggdog, Welcome to the forum, It is great no matter what time of year it is, the hire season is slowing a little by then but it is still great fun.Just have a good time like the rest of us.If you want a specific mooring, ring ahead the owners will always oblige where possible. Have a great time.

Welcome, oggdog. Cruising late September? One word would describe it for me...'fabulous'. Sure, the days are shorter but the weather is often excellent and the rivers are quieter. Well worth trying at that time IMHO.

Cruising in late September is fine and dandy, everywhere/thing will still be open and the weather is acceptable, in fact the rivers should be a bit quieter so easier mooring slots available. Our annual Lads week is in October as per the norm, sometimes it has been late October and even November before now and it has never been a problem, anytime of year afloat is magical imho although Jan/Feb sometimes catches us out if there are ice flows. We did last week of September 4 years ago the weather was great, a bit quieter on the main rivers and places but had a very good time.

September and October are generally very good months in Norfolk. When I was a child, we'd always holiday in September in Norfolk, often mid to late Sept. I prefer Sept to August, to be honest. Holidays are cheaper and so much better value and there are fewer people around. It's a winner all-round if you ask me.

Am on Southern Horizon 1 for the last week of October - was thinking it'll be chilly. But as long as it doesnt rain constantly I'll be happy. This will be the 4th time since August 09 too. Some may say I'm hooked.

Last year we went the second week of october & it was magical, not too crowded so no problems mooring either. took plenty of warm clothing & wet weather gear just in case but hardly needed it! needless to say were back again first two weeks of oct, At least going in sept the days are still a bit longer & maybe warmer!! have fun !
