I must agree with you Barry. The Broads, Broads business and most Forums could certainly do without people like this. May be get back under the bridge with other Trolls ?

OH dear Delta 3 you are off on the wrong foot here! If you don't get the point that the boatyards are basically not cutthroat moneygrabbers, then you don't 'get' the Broads. Your stance does appear to be a lot more confrontational than it needs to be, and you speak without experience in some instances. For example, in treating Jason as you have, when all of us who have had dealings with him know he is absolutely 'on the level'. I rather hope Springsong will edit his last post, but I can see why he made it! You need be aware that trolling is not tolerated on here, so please tone it down. I have always believed it being a false economy in spitting hair when sometimes it comes down to costs within reason ? all the relevant equipment needed to operate a successful business-and of any type is out there available within the open market to obtain service and commitment are not?? its the people within the business that makes that companies successful - and that originates from the top down usually breeding throughout its workforce as for Rudeness ......well ????? I believe the last few posts say it all, my sincere thanks to all the forum members (several customers) who have posted. It is a great shame, but at the end of the day I think Delta3 is a gentleman who clearly has had a few issues in the past with boatyard pricing. I agree there is some history on this subject but to 'tar everyone with the same brush' is unacceptable. Maybe he now owns a boatyard and knows everything thats currently involved, most people would get a few surprises!?? But for the moment I will just continue to enjoy the 'cartel story' as this seems to be making people smile in the industry. As you know all the boatyards have to communicate because of the large area we cover, and ANYTHING that makes us smile while we are doing our job is a bonus! especially when doing customer toilet pump outs! But if its okay with you folks I'm happy to call this thread closed, it seems there is no reasoning with delta3, obviously we maybe tempted to post again after Delts3's last word, but there are much more important issues to worry about in life!! (Just for the record my statement of the 'cheapest quote' was in relation to the prices mentioned at that time) Kind regards Jason

Jason! you are a rip off merchant, on Monday George supposedly put £50 of diesel in my boat, at least 50p worth went up Georges arm and on my deck but you still charged me £50, so you own me 50p worth of diesel, on a more serious note boat owners on the Broads are quite a close community, most belong to one forum or another and word gets around very fast, if someone gets ripped off or gets bad service it's usualy only a matter of hours before everyone knows about it, even if we can't post it on the forum because of TOS we PM each other, if someone is too expensive or rips us off! simple we don't use them, If someone gets a glowing report like Jason! simple we use them, and anyone else on the Broads that gives good service and dosn't rip us off, we boat owners may all be poor but we certainly arn't stupid, Regards Frank,,
I'm Not CRAZY, my view on reality is just different to YOURS,,,

(modded) This thread started off with a polite question followed by two polite suggestions to answer the query. Need to lift out our boat she is 40ft- wide beam- 13ft. Anyone know of anywhere reasonable on the southern broads, Norwich end? Just had a quote for a lift in and out, hard standing and pressure wash at Bell's £470.83. I know Haven marina in Lowestoft is cheap, but we don't really want to trail all that way. Cheers Reply 1) brundall bay marina might be worth a look Reply 2) Greenway Marine in Loddon. (Modded) Reply 3) Including the cost of - at least 3 men for 1 hour each, who need to move & prepare boats ready etc, plus crane maintenance costs and annual insurance costs for ALL equipment that is involved with lifting, a qualified crane operator, a qualified banksman, annual public liability insurance, business annual rates, training costs for staff, maintenance of pressure washer water proofs or washing off work overalls plus the power & water Plus 17.5% VAT Plus staff with over 40 yrs experience at moving & craning boats I personally think £470.83 is very cheap! But I maybe wrong........... Bell Boats may do summer offers but you need to check. (Modded (Modded) First of all, I am not from the Ely area, although the boat was, and I saw at first hand how the prices were artificially fixed and spoke to different Marina's who openly agreed that there was price rigging. I also spoke to the mechanic that does the work for the Hermitage on the Old West, and he said that the price was way over the odds. (Modded) Modded for abuse of members. Trolling by all reasonable standards. I suggest that you have done price research to your satisfaction, so your initial query is answered. I am now locking this thread

delta 3, i dont own a boat or live near the broads, but i am intelligent enough to read poster no 3's avatar. it says;- S.O.S.24/7 limited. obvious to most that the poster is running a business. I suggest you try reading things before you accuse people of anything. By the way , foul mouthing other members is breaking T.O.S. am very surprised you haven't been modded for that.(no im not a moderator either) anyhow im surprised that as you have been a member for 3 years you have not realised that jason is running a business. regards,Mike STINKIES UNITED. chairman of cider lovers united forum girly swot 25/9/2009, 6/11/2009 , 10/12/2009, 8/1/2010, 2/4/2010, 4/6/2010, 18/06/2010 and 16/7/2010

Hardly a little gang of bullies delta 3, more like a group of folk prepared to express their opinion and support a view from a well respected local business. Have you read another current topic, Are we allowed to say thanks? I think that sums up Jason and his business very well, sometimes it is worth acknowledging what people who know what they are talking about say.

Delta3 You dont seem to be happy with any advice that the members here have been kind enough to offer you. You seem not to be happy with the cost of things on the Broads. You seem not to be happy with the local boat yards in Norfolk. What I would suggest you do is to take yourself off this forum. Then maybe you will be happy.
