If you own a freehold mooring and a boat moored there, but are a bit strapped for cash this could be just what you want.
We have a bit of spare money, and are looking to buy a few selected mooring plots, with the intention of renting them back to the present owners on a rolling annual contract basis.
If at sometime in the future your fortunes change and you want to buy it back, we are happy to do this also.
We are basically looking for a secure return on our money, so here are the answers to a few questions you will pobably have.
1...Q. How much will we pay?
    A. A fair market price.

2..Q. How much will the rent be?
   a. 4% of the purchase price annually

3..Q. How much will the price increase by if I want   to buy it back?
   A. The amount we paid you plus 4% for each year we owned it.
4..Q. Who pays the legal fees
   a. We each pay our own.

If you are interested, or maybe just have more questions not covered above contact us first via this forum, after which direct contact can be established.
John & Lesley

Is this really type of advert really in keeping with this forum?

The Broads is The Broads, it is NOT a National Park. Parliament says so!! And so does DEFRA & the Ordnance Survey!!

Noticed there a couple of these posts referring to moorings.   Perhaps it is me but I think it is all a bit ambiguous to give no contact details.   Could be any Tom Jane or Harry.   If you are in the business of selling surely you would give a valid email address and not just rely on pm's.    As I say perhaps it is just me.

We have absolutely no idea why you should feel this proposition is offensive in any way.
In these times many people find themselves needing cash. In many cases it is the leisure activities that are at the forefront of economies to be made. This solution allows those who find themselves in this position to continue to enjoy their mooring, and allows them opportunity to re-aquire it at some future point should they wish to do so at a very reasonable cost.
You could look upon on it as a cheap loan.
If you have any valid reason to object to this scheme, or can envisage any situation that you feel it appropriate to warn others about, then please feel free to do so.

hi John and Lesley

An interesting idea.... May I ask a question?

If I signed up and sold my mooring to you

Assumming I pay the rental on time, Can you evict me?
If so how much notice?

smellyloo (& anyone else)
The full picture is this:-
We live and work in the Canaries, in tourism. We have some spare cash to invest and prefer to invest it in property in the UK as the market there is more vibrant than in Spain.
The problem with buying bricks and mortar type property in the uk is that a) it has ongoing expenses with it & b) it is very difficult for us to manage remotely especially with rentals.
Moorings and agriculural land are far more attractive us because the above 2 difficulties are overcome. We are neither farmers, nor keen boaters, although we do own a boat on the thames, our family use this much more than we do.
We have absolutely no use whatever for a mooring on the broads other than a source of income.
Moorings we own, we have to find tenents for, which can be a little variable. In this scheme we have a ready made tenent, with some underlying interest in the mooring. There is absolutely no gain in us evicting a paying tenent and anyone who entered into this scheme would be welcome to remain as long as it suited them, hopefully to the point where they may wish to buy it back in the future.
Please anybody feel free to ask more questions, there is no catch here!!!!.... its simply a slightly "out the box" way of investing.

Well your reaction speaks for itself.  If you had placed all that information on the post to start with I think you may well have more success.   People these days are very cautious and who can blame them.

Hylander,
we have probably lived in Fuerteventura too long....
the only sharks here are offshore, the inland variety soon find themselves in deep trouble with authorities, who have no hesitation in locking them up.
